The DG Continental, Advocacy for Good Governance Network Global, Amb. Hussaini Haruna Coomassie, commiserate with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. T.Y Buratai & the management & staff of 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Portharcourt, over the unfortunate demise of the GOC 6 Div., Maj. General Olubumi Irefin, who died early hours of yesterday, as a result of COVID 19 related issues.
The Ambassador, who doubles as Chairman, Presidential Support Initiative & National Coordinator, fresh Connect initiative for better Nigeria, spoke to our correspondent in Kano State, where he is Chairing a workshop on Good Governance & Youth empowerment, he expressed his shock of the breaking news after observing 1minute silence, in honor of the fallen Hero and prayed to God to give the Army & his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
General Irefin is indeed one of the best product Nigeria Army ever produced, his demise at this point in time is a great setback to the Military & Nigeria, especially this era of security challenges, he added.
*The Ambassador strongly advised General Buratai & all the participants of the 2020 COAS Annual General meeting in Abuja, to observe 14 days isolation with immediate effect.*
