The Abia State Police Command has assured residents of a peaceful and secure environment across the state as Muslim faithful celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chioma Chinaka, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, the Command extended warm greetings to Muslims and reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property during the festive period.
According to the statement, the Command has intensified and strategically coordinated security operations across the state, with personnel deployed to prayer grounds, recreational centres, major highways, and other public locations to ensure adequate protection before, during, and after the celebrations.
The police added that intelligence-led surveillance and monitoring of public gatherings would also be sustained to prevent criminal activities and maintain law and order throughout the festivities.
The Command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and security-conscious by reporting suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency hotlines.
It further emphasized that public cooperation remains essential in sustaining peace and security across the state.
The statement concluded with the Command wishing all Muslim faithful in Abia State a joyful, peaceful, and hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
