In a moment of celebration and recognition, Honourable Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree (Doctor of Letters) by Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD).

The ceremony, held yesterday at the university’s main campus in Ekiti State, brought together distinguished guests, academics, and dignitaries to honour Dr. Dabiri-Erewa’s outstanding contributions to national development, diaspora engagement, and the promotion of Nigerian excellence across the globe.

Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, a former journalist, lawmaker, and one of Nigeria’s most visible advocates for citizens abroad, has long been recognised for her commitment to public service and her leadership in strengthening ties between Nigeria and its global diaspora community. Her tenure at NiDCOM has seen landmark initiatives aimed at harnessing diaspora resources, talents, and investment for national growth.

In conferring the honorary degree, the University acknowledged her exceptional record in nation-building, women’s empowerment, and her unwavering dedication to the image of Nigeria internationally.
