The Presidential Election Petitions Court siting in Abuja, has dismissed the petitions filed by the APM, Labour Party and PDP challenging the election of Bola Tinubu as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Tribunal, in its ruling also affirmed the declaration of Bola Tinubu as the validly elected President of Federal Republic Of Nigeria.
According to the tribunal chairman, Justice Tsamani, “The petition by Atiku and PDP lacks merit. Having found all 3 petitions to be unmeritorious, I hold that the return of Tinubu as elected President by INEC is right.”
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the February 25 polls.
However, the result was challenged in court by Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar who were both presidential candidates of the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) respectively in the election.
Meanwhile, the Labour Party has rejected the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Court.
