Eminent Nigerians, on Thursday, thronged Erunwon in Ogun State, to pay their last respect to foremost industrialist, Chief Chris Ogunbanjo, who died on October 7, 2023, few months to his centenary celebration and laid to rest on thursday .
It was the celebration of a life well spent with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.
Also, in attendance were the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Minister of Finance and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, two former governors of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba and Senator Ibikunle Amosun, former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Niyi Adebayo, who is also a former Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment and former Commonwealth Secretary General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku.
The remains of chief Dr. Christopher Oladipo Ogunbanjo, Olootu of ijebuland was laid to rest with a call to all Christians to live their lives to the service of God and humanity.
In a sermon at the funeral service held for the deceased at the church of Epiphany Eruwon Ijebu, Venerable Babatunde Abiala (rtd) confirmed the late chief Ogunbanjo lived a life worthy of emulation . He served God and humanity while alive.
In their different speeches at the well attended burial service, President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abiodun confirmed that late Chief Christopher Oladipupo Ogunbanjo was indeed a true community and God fearing man who believed in fairness , equity and justice among the goververn and the patriotic citizens.
The remains of the deceased were later committed to mother Earth at the anchorage.
Died at the age of ninety nine chief Dr. Christopher Oladipo Ogunbanjo was a renowned legal jurist of international repute and he is survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
