——Today, it has been reported and widely shared that one of Nigeria’s President’s closest aides, Mallam Sarki Abba, tested positive for Coronavirus a couple of weeks ago. He is also the Senior Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs, to President Muhammadu Buhari.
These reports are surprising however, to Mr. Abba and close friends. On speaking with Mr. Abba following the rumours, our contact confirms he is in good spirits and remains diligently at work. The source wondered why print a story with a lack of verifiable evidence, and questions any organisation spreading such rumors. Rather, the source informs us Mallam Sarki Abba is looking healthy and does not show any signs of the symptoms associated with coronavirus.
“Danuwa Sarki is well, in the villa and has nothing to do with Corona Virus. Your people in the media are peddling negative stories for reasons best known to them. I wonder what will happen if one seeks for legal reasoning in all these”, he added.
Nigeria has reported more than 400,000 samples tested, 54,008 confirmed cases, 11, 357 active case, 41,638 discharged cases and 1,013 death on covid-19.
