Over 3,000 Umunneochi youths have thrown their weight behind Hon Amobi Ogah, endorsing him to run for a second term as Member Representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency seat.
The endorsement was made at the official inauguration of the Agun’echeibe Youth Movement in Mbala, Isuochi, where the Chairman of Umunneochi Local Government Area, Chief Sunny Afurobi, urged supporters to back Hon Ogah for continuity, citing his achievements in office over the past two years.
Chief Afurobi contrasted Ogah’s performance with that of his predecessor, Nkiru Onyejiocha, who failed to deliver meaningful projects in 16 years, and praised Ogah’s commitment to supporting Umunneochi youths.
The Agun’echeibe Youth Movement, established in 2018, has been instrumental in promoting Ogah’s political career, providing empowerment programs, scholarships, and livelihood support to its members. The movement has expanded to Isuikwuato, with plans to go beyond Abia North, and aims to determine who gets what within its areas of operation.
The inauguration was attended by prominent stakeholders, including Hon Matias Nwachi, Chief Ikeorike, and Hon David Mbah, among others.
Coordinator of the Movement, Comrade Madu Obiora, in his inaugural address, traced the origins of the movement to 2018, describing it as a student-driven initiative that quickly evolved into a rallying platform for the political vision of Hon Amobi Ogah, the current member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency.
He explained that the structure later grew into a “three-in-one” platform, housing the Agun’echeibe Students and Young Ladies, thereby broadening its reach and influence among young people.
According to him, the movement played a decisive role during the 2018 primary election, when youths mobilised through strategic engagement, commitment and personal sacrifice to support Ogah’s emergence.
Comrade Madu Obiora commended Ambassador Imah Chukwuedozie Richard, Chief Macson Chukwujioke, Chief Obiora Nduka, Barr Uche Ezeibe, Hon Eric Udoka, Ambassador Osita Offor, and Comrade Obinna Ogbodo, among others, for their financial support towards the success of the program.
