Sequel to the recent arrest and detention of Owuopele Owous who allegedly was in the habit of bullying senior government functionaries for pecuniary and sundry reasons and inciting violence in Niger Delta region, the head of the Association of Urhobo Mayoral Family Crown, AUMFC, His Excellency Eshanekpe Israel popularly known as Akpodoro has stated that the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, Dr Dennis Otuaro, remains the best for the office saying no amount of blackmail can derail him from tuning the programme around for the betterment of the of the people and region.

In a recent development, Dr. Otuaro had been the target of mischief makers in the region who are not pleased with his management of the Amnesty Programme thereby inciting members of the Niger Delta region’s public against the Administrator whereas most of those threatening fire and brimstone aren’t ex-leaders neither do they lead any legitimate group among the recognised youth groups in the region.

Akpodoro who commended security agencies for the arrest and investigation of those involved in cyberbullying and morbid attacks on the Administrator saying at no time since the establishment of the programme that it has been better than what it is now saying Dr. Otuaro has been a subject of villification by those he described as enemies of the region due mainly to the fact that it is no more business as usual.

He further stated that those who disparage the Administrator are renegades of bigger sponsors who peddle lies to blackmail Otuaro’s management because they lost out from their age-long racketeering and profiteering a development he said has been a clog in the wheelers of progress of the Amnesty Programme.

To Akpodoro, even Dr. Otuaro’s appointing authority can attest to his capacity, transparency, accountability and honesty in the management of the programme but for the reason of established corruption among some persons in the region who he noted were complicit in the past corrupting that drew back the programme
the agents of sleaze would stop at nothing to ensure the programme derials.

The Mayor warned those he described as idle youths and tools in the hands of malfeasnats should desist lest they have their date with secuirty agencies adding that the silence of Dr. Otuaro shouldn’t be misconstrued for weakness but strength in character and love for his people.

In two years of his appointment, Mayor Akpodoro noted that Dr. Otuato has surpassed the achievements of his precedessors and should be commended for his innovative change in the life of the programme saying his administration has been impactful across board.

He called on security agencies not to relent in its efforts at weeding out those who stoke troubles in the region noting that the people need peace and harmony for the collective good of the region.

“Otuaro has set the programme on the path of greatness, renaissance, growth and development. Our youths are granted scholarship without lobbying or being duped by profiteers, no more phony contracts and upfront payment, fake contractors have been rendered jobless, self acclaimed owners of the programme have been benched by Otuaro’s management for genuine stakeholders’ support.

“Benefiaries of the programme are no more shortchanged because transparency has become the order of the day. The budget of the programme is now strictly and honestly channelled for the good of the people and not for few pockets which explains why blackmailers are unleashed on the visionary leadership of Dr. Otuaro.

“Whoever stokes crisis in the region should be investigated, arrested and prosecuted. Enough of recklessness and blackmail. What they do is to peddle lies against their targets until he pays them and refusal to part with huge sum attracts harassment, and unproven allegations against such official including Dr. Otuaro. This mischief must stop. Owous should be prosecuted and should be jailed if found guilty. Until punitive measures are applied and offenders punished, bullying won’t stop. What our youths do is to drag our leaders from the region for the purpose of extortion. The National Security Adviser to the President, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu should up his game and end this regime of impunity.” His Excellency, Mayor Akpodoro stated.
