The Nigeria Federal Capital Territory Administration Minister Nyesom Wike has appointed Dr. Barivure Fred Kpakol as the Senior Special Assistant on Environment and Waste Management.
A statement from the Director Press office of the Minister, Anthony Ogunleye says Dr. Kpakol’s extensive experience and qualifications makes him a valuable addition to the FCT Administration’s dedicated team.
According to the statement, Dr. Kpakol born on the 26th of May, 1961, in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State, is a highly accomplished individual with a remarkable academic background.
He holds a doctorate degree in Banking and Finance from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt.
Ogunleye added that Dr. Kpakol in this role, will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the sustainable development and improvement of the environment in the FCT. His background in finance, governance, and agriculture positions him well to address the complex issues related to waste management and environmental conservation.
In a related development Nyesome Wike has also appointed Hon. Michael Chinda as Senior Special Assistant on Land, Urban and Regional Planning.
This was also contained in a separate statement by the Director Press in the office of the minister Anthony Ogunleye.
According to the statement, born on the 17th of September, 1960, in Rivers State Nigeria, Honourable Michael O. Chinda has a distinguished academic background and a wealth of professional experience.
He earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Port Harcourt in 2004 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Technology from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, obtained in 1987.
Honourable Chinda’s career has been marked by a series of notable appointments and responsibilities, reflecting his commitment to public service and his strong qualifications
A distinguished legislator at the Rivers State House of Assembly, serving the people of Rivers State from 2011 to 2023, contributing to lawmaking, policy development, and community development, Hon. Chinda has also earned the esteemed title of Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, a prestigious recognition of his contributions to the real estate and land management sector.
Land and urban planning are critical components of the development of any city, and with his extensive experience and academic background, Hon. Michael O. Chinda is well-equipped to address the complexities and challenges associated with these areas. Ogunleye added.
