
The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, has received a prestigious international award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to regional development, innovation, and governance in the Niger Delta region.
Dr. Ogbuku was honoured with the London Political Summit and Awards (LPSA) Nigeria Regional Government Development Champion of the Year 2025 award at a ceremony held at the UK House of Commons in London. The award acknowledges his leadership in promoting sustainable development and inclusive growth initiatives across Nigeria’s oil-producing communities.

Represented by Dr. Chris Ekam and Dr. Willie Etim, Dr. Ogbuku expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating that it reflects the positive impact of NDDC’s efforts in the region.
He assured that the award would motivate the Commission to intensify its efforts in completing legacy projects and promoting human capital development.
The London Political Summit and Awards, a respected international platform for dialogue on governance and democratic peace, has evolved into a premier forum for discussing governance, leadership, and sustainable development.
Other notable awardees included Former Kenyan Vice President Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Kebbi State Governor Dr. Nasir Idris, and Mayor Paul Bristow.
