Tinubu tasks envoys to project Nigeria’s image, drive investment, and safeguard citizens abroad
By ifeoma Onyekachi
More than 40 ambassador-designates have commenced a formal induction programme in Abuja ahead of their deployment to various diplomatic missions across the globe.

The exercise, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is designed to prepare the envoys for the responsibilities of representing Nigeria’s interests abroad, with a strong focus on economic diplomacy, security engagement, and consular services.
Speaking at the opening, Bola Tinubu charged the ambassadors to serve as the “face of Nigeria abroad,” urging them to actively promote the country’s image, attract foreign investment, and ensure the protection and welfare of Nigerians in their respective host countries.

The induction programme is also aligned with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, equipping the diplomats with the necessary tools and strategic insights to advance Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives.
The training is scheduled to conclude on Friday.
