Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has inaugurated a new hospital and diagnostic centre in Edumo, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, as part of efforts to improve access to quality healthcare services in the state.

The facility, described as ultra-modern, is expected to serve residents of the community and neighbouring areas.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the governor said the project represents a major milestone in strengthening the state’s healthcare infrastructure. He noted that the hospital would serve as a lifeline for many communities, while also contributing to economic growth through job creation and improved health outcomes.

Gov. Ododo commended the promoters of the privately built facility, describing their investment as not only a business venture but also a significant contribution to humanity.

He assured them of his administration’s support, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between government and the private sector in addressing healthcare challenges.

The governor highlighted the importance of early diagnosis in effective treatment, noting that the centre is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools such as MRI, CT scan, digital X-ray, and laboratory services.

According the Governor, access to such facilities would reduce the need for residents to travel long distances for medical care.

He further reiterated his administration’s commitment to expanding healthcare delivery across Kogi State, including upgrading existing hospitals and strengthening primary healthcare systems.

Gov. Ododo added that the growing population in the state and its environs makes it imperative to invest in reliable and accessible medical services.

In her remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of the hospital said the facility was established to bridge gaps in diagnostic services and reduce medical tourism outside the state.

Community leaders at the event described the project as a landmark development, expressing optimism that it would improve healthcare delivery and enhance the well-being of residents.
