The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to empowering women and youth entrepreneurs in Nigeria.

This pledge was made by the Director General, Dr. Patricia Uchenna Chukwu, at a recent training and empowerment program held in Nguru, Yusufari, Machina, and Karasuwa federal constituency, Yobe State.

The three-day program, which focused on soap making, poultry farming, and fish farming, provided participants with valuable knowledge and skills to establish their own enterprises. 

Representing Dr. Chukwu, Engr. Bila Ahmed Mohammed, Technology Incubation Centre (TIC) Damaturu, emphasized the importance of the Technology Incubation Program in promoting indigenous technology and reducing dependence on foreign goods.

According to her, “The federal government is committed to supporting entrepreneurs, particularly women and youth, in Nigeria. Our goal is to foster innovation, create wealth, and reduce unemployment. We believe that by empowering entrepreneurs, we can drive economic growth and development.”

Key Highlights of the Program:

1. Empowerment of Women and Youth: The program aimed to equip women and youth with entrepreneurial skills, promoting self-reliance and job creation.

2. Indigenous Technology: The NBTI emphasized the need to develop and utilize local technologies to reduce Nigeria’s reliance on foreign goods.

3. Commercialization of Research: The program focused on turning research and development into viable businesses and products.

4. Entrepreneurial Development: Participants received training and resources to establish and manage successful enterprises.
