The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for the Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, Hon. Noah Dallaji, has pledged to provide accountable, accessible and people-centred representation if elected.
Dallaji made the commitment on Wednesday during a campaign rally in Dajin, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, where he said legislative representation should go beyond occupying a seat in the National Assembly to maintaining a continuous connection with constituents.
He said his proposed approach would be anchored on accountability, transparency, accessibility and measurable results, stressing that elected representatives must remain answerable to the people who entrusted them with their mandate.
According to him, he would establish regular engagement with constituents across Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa, providing platforms through which communities, youth groups, women, farmers, traditional institutions, professionals, religious leaders and other stakeholders could communicate their concerns and contribute to identifying development priorities.
“Representation must not end with elections. It must begin with elections. The people deserve a representative they can reach, speak to, question and hold accountable,” Dallaji said.
The APM candidate also promised to develop a system through which constituency concerns would be properly documented, followed up and communicated to relevant federal ministries, agencies and institutions.
He said his approach would be guided by the principle that public office is a public trust and not a personal entitlement.
Dallaji identified education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, employment, social welfare and economic opportunities as areas requiring sustained legislative attention, adding that effective representation should translate into tangible benefits for constituents.
He urged residents of the constituency to participate actively in the democratic process and said he would seek their support for the APM in the forthcoming general election.
“Democracy is ultimately about the people. My commitment is to make representation work for the people and to ensure that the voice of every community matters,” he said.
