Business owners, entrepreneurs, marketers and industry leaders gathered in Abuja on Saturday for the launch of Conquest: The Ultimate Blueprint for Market Domination and Business Growth, a book by leadership and business strategist, Ukwa Nkem Robert, which combines practical business insights with an intensive masterclass on market leadership.
Addressing participants at the event, the author described Conquest as more than a book, saying it is a practical blueprint developed from years of experience in leadership, marketing and business development.
According to Robert, businesses must move beyond merely selling products and focus on building genuine relationships with customers if they hope to achieve sustainable growth.
“The greatest conquest in business is not defeating competitors; it is winning the hearts and minds of the people you are called to serve. When people trust you, they buy from you, remain loyal and become ambassadors for your brand,” he said.
He explained that the book presents practical frameworks to help entrepreneurs answer a fundamental question: How do you land in the market? He added that the principles are applicable to startups, established businesses and institutions seeking long-term relevance.
“The market rewards those who solve problems consistently. Success is not accidental; it is built through strategic leadership, deliberate positioning, excellent communication and an unwavering commitment to creating value,” Robert stated.
The author urged entrepreneurs, particularly young people, to embrace continuous learning, discipline and patience rather than chasing shortcuts to success.
“There is no substitute for competence. Build your capacity, master your craft and remain consistent. Businesses that dominate tomorrow are those making the right decisions today,” he added.
The event also featured an interactive masterclass where Robert shared six practical principles for market positioning, brand influence and sustainable business growth.
Speaking at the launch, marketing strategist and public communication leader, Daniela Ukwa, said the book is founded on one central principle: businesses must win the hearts of people before they can dominate the marketplace.
“To conquer a marketplace, you must first go for the heart of the people your product and your institution were built to serve. Win the heart, and the market follows,” she said.
Ukwa noted that the philosophy is rooted in practical experience rather than theory, having worked closely with the author for over 12 years.
“I have seen these principles applied successfully across fashion, business and other industries. This is not just another business book; it is a tested blueprint,” she said.
She stressed that while quality products are important, businesses must first identify and understand the people they are created to serve.
“You must start with the ‘who’ before the ‘what.’ For those who could not be in the room today, all the principles and frameworks shared during this session are contained in The Conquest,” she added.
Also speaking, Chief Executive Officer of Fashion Academy Abuja, Nina Yusuf Kwande, described the book launch and masterclass as timely, insightful and highly practical.
“I know this person even beyond the book, so I can only imagine the amazing things that will come out of this book launch. So far, it’s been great,” she said.
Kwande praised the author for presenting business principles that can be applied across different industries and even in everyday life.
“He’s giving a masterclass that is going to help each and every one of us. He always speaks from the point of view where you can apply whatever you are learning to any business or anything that you are doing in life. I’m really blessed and happy to be here,” she added.
Offering advice to young entrepreneurs and members of Generation Z, she emphasized the importance of patience, persistence and trusting the process.
“Everything still needs patience and everything has its time. There’s a time for planting, a time where you have to wait, and a time for harvest. Nothing just happens overnight, not even with all the internet advice. If you look at anybody’s background, anything they’ve succeeded in took time,” she said.
She concluded by encouraging young people to remain committed to developing their skills.
“The reality is everything takes time. Gen Zs, you have to play the waiting game. You have to hone your craft, be patient, and remember that all good things come to those who plant.”
The launch concluded with a networking session as participants commended Conquest for providing actionable strategies aimed at helping entrepreneurs build customer-centred brands, strengthen leadership capacity and achieve sustainable business growth.
