Continental Director General, Advocacy for Good Governance & Social justice Network Global, Amb. (Dr) Coomassie Hussain says the appointment of Maj. Gen. Faruk Yahaya as the new 22nd Chief of Army Staff (COAS) by President Muhammadu Buhari is commendable and well deserved.
Amb Coomassie who spoke to Newsmen in his Country Home, Katsina, described the new COAS as someone who will continue with the good work that late Gen. ATTAHIRU had started.
The Ambassador applauded President for the excellent choice of Maj. Gen Yahaya, who, according to him, is a detribalised nigerian who loves the country with passion.
“Until his appointment Maj. Gen. Faruk Yahaya was GOC 1Div Kaduna, who reduced BANDITRY DRASTICALLY along kaduna Abuja expressway, by deploying women soldiers to tackle insecurity along the road for the 1st time among other strategies.
Not only that, he brought sanity within kaduna and neighboring states and it actually yielded favourable results. He was, thereafter, posted to Borno as theatre commander, operation Hadin Kai.
He further noted that “I first met the new COAS when he was Lt Col. at Army HQ and I enjoyed associating with him because of his dedication to duty and above all very religious.
I wish him well, and may ALLAH grant him the wisdom and more courage to tackle BH, ESN, Sunday Ighboho led terror group, kidnapping, BANDITRY and other organised security challenges to make Nigeria a better place.
Surely, PMB will not regret his choice of Gen Faruk Yahaya insha ALLAH, Amb Coomassie added.
