The spiritual father and leader of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Ayo Ni O, His Grace, Most Reverend Prophet Emmanuel Alogbo, has died at the age of 93.
The church announced his passing in a statement on Thursday, saying the revered cleric died peacefully in the early hours of July 30, 2026, at his residence in Lagos.
The statement, signed by the church’s Secretary-General, Prophet Anthony Olusesan Samaye, said Alogbo passed away at about 2:10 a.m. while surrounded by members of his family and domestic staff.
“With gratitude to God Almighty for a life well spent, on behalf of the Board of Trustees and the entire church, I write to inform you all that our Spiritual Father was called to glory in the early hours of today, July 30, 2026, at about 2:10 a.m.,” the statement read.
The church described Alogbo as a devoted spiritual leader who dedicated his life to the growth of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church and the advancement of the Christian faith.
It added that details of his funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
His death marks the end of an era for one of Nigeria’s oldest indigenous Christian denominations, where he served as the spiritual head and provided leadership to members of the church in Nigeria and across the world.
