
Al’amin Muhammed Idris, CEO of Interface Africa, has emerged as the winner of the NextGen Innovation Challenge, representing Kaduna State.
He received a cash award of 1.5 million pounds at the grand finale held in Paddington, London, today, October 9, 2025.
Interface Africa, under Idris’ leadership, focuses on providing affordable solar financing to small businesses in Africa. This innovative approach contributed to its success in the competition.
The NextGen Innovation Challenge is a national initiative designed to unlock Nigerian youths’ innovative potential, especially from grassroots communities.
The challenge was inspired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation.
Idris’ achievement highlights growing recognition of African innovation and entrepreneurship globally. The cash award will support Interface Africa’s mission to increase access to clean energy in underserved communities.
The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) under the leadership of Dr Kazeem Kolawole Raji had announced a revolutionized global innovation landscape with the NextGen Innovation Challenge 2025, showcasing 105 Nigerian innovations.
These innovations span multiple sectors, including HealthTech, Agritech, FinTech, Clean Energy, and Artificial Intelligence, showcasing Nigeria’s potential to become a global innovation hub.
