The outgoing Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, on Wednesday commissioned the Is-haq Oloyede JAMB Mega Professional Registration Centre (PRC), a state-of-the-art Computer-Based Test (CBT) facility donated by the Borno State Government.

The commissioning ceremony, held on July 22, was attended by the incoming JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, alongside top government officials and stakeholders in the education sector.

Located on a 5,300-square-metre expanse of land, the ultra-modern facility is fully fenced, landscaped and powered by a dedicated 300kVA transformer. The complex houses eight offices, three conference rooms, four registration areas and 16 convenience facilities.

The centre also boasts two CBT halls equipped with 275 computers each, giving it the capacity to examine 500 candidates per session and up to 2,000 candidates daily during examinations. It further features two waiting halls with a combined capacity of 500 candidates and six additional convenience facilities to enhance the comfort of prospective candidates.

The project, whose foundation was laid by Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, on February 24, 2026, was completed in less than six months, ahead of the timeline set by the state government.

Speaking at the commissioning, Prof. Oloyede expressed gratitude to Governor Zulum for what he described as a landmark investment in education, noting that the facility would significantly improve access to JAMB services and ease examination logistics for candidates across the North-East.

He praised the governor’s commitment to educational development, stating that the JAMB delegation was impressed by the smart schools established by the Borno State Government, which reflect the administration’s determination to prioritise education.

The incoming JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, also commended Governor Zulum for the strong partnership between the state government and JAMB. He expressed hope that the collaboration would continue, saying it would further strengthen the Board’s operations and support educational advancement in the state.

In his remarks, Governor Zulum reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in education, describing it as the most effective tool for tackling Borno State’s social and economic challenges.

He disclosed that the state government committed more than ₦1 billion to the construction of the mega CBT centre, adding that the long-term benefits of the project would far outweigh its cost.

The new facility is expected to enhance JAMB’s registration and examination processes in the North-East while expanding access to quality computer-based testing infrastructure for candidates across the region.
