Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia has condemned the persistent killings in Benue State, describing the recent attacks on communities in Otukpo Local Government Area as unacceptable and calling for collective action to end the violence.

The Benue-born singer made the remarks on Wednesday during a visit to Otukpo-Nobi, one of the communities recently attacked by suspected armed herders.

The visit followed a deadly attack on July 12, 2026, in which gunmen reportedly killed at least 10 residents and injured several others.

Sharing a video from the visit on his Instagram page, 2Baba described the suffering of Benue people as a shared burden and urged residents and leaders to remain united in seeking lasting peace.

“Benue is home. When home hurts, we all feel it. Today is about standing together, listening, and reminding one another that hope is never lost,” he wrote.

Addressing members of the affected community, the singer sympathised with victims and bereaved families, stressing that the escalating violence could no longer be ignored.

“It’s becoming too much now, we can’t pretend anymore. We need to begin planning. It won’t be automatic, but there is definitely going to be a solution,” he said.

2Baba emphasised that ending the insecurity would require the collective efforts of government, local communities and other stakeholders rather than relying on a single individual.

“It’s not going to be one person; we all need to come together and fight it. I came to sympathise with you all. It’s painful,” he added.

His visit comes amid renewed calls for stronger security measures and lasting solutions to the recurring attacks that have continued to claim lives and displace communities across Benue State.
