No fewer than One Million, Three Hundred and Seventy-Six Thousand, Three Hundred and Ninety-One (1,376,391) candidates registered for the on-going 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal conducted by the National Examinations Council (NECO).
Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, on Wednesday while monitoring the examination at various centers in Enugu, Enugu State, expressed satisfaction with the examination’s conduct, stating that reports from across the nation indicated smooth progress.
Prof. Wushishi while highlighting the decline in examination malpractice due to innovative measures put in place, noted the importance of hard work for success, stating, “there is no short cut to success.”
The Registrar personally monitored the examination in several states to ensure its integrity.
NECO’s reach extends beyond Nigeria, with the examination being held in countries like Togo, Benin Republic, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Prof. Wushishi noted that this expansion reflects the global recognition of NECO Certificates.
The 2024 NECO SSCE, which began on June 19th and will end on July 25th, covers 76 subjects.
The Registrar’s efforts to oversee the examination process and the positive feedback from stakeholders in various states underscore the commitment to a seamless and credible examination experience.
