Saturday October 25th 2014 sees the release of the ‘Women of Hope’ single at the STRONGROOM BAR & RECORDING STUDIOS. The single was produced by the renowned music producer Chris Cameron, who previously served as musical director to artists such as George Michael, Leona Lewis and Take That.
The song was penned by Michelle John, who over the past years has worked with world class artists such as Elton John, Madonna, Eric Clapton and Annie Lennox. Michelle’s wealth of experience in the music industry assisted her in co-producing the track, resulting in a recording with a unique signature sound and thought-provoking message.
‘Women of Hope’ was recorded on August 8th at well known music producer Paul Hardcastle’s NUA Entertainment Studios, Larking Farm, where around 60 women from all over the UK, including Linda Lewis, Natalie Phillips, Shar White and a host of other premier female vocalists gathered to record the ground-breaking track. The project has received support from BBC Radio Essex, Premier Gospel Radio, The Voice Newspaper, Keep the Faith Magazine and Mi Soul Radio.
The date will also see the launch of the organisation KODA (Keep Our Dreams Alive) charity founded by Yvonne Bruce and Catherine Labinjo. The organisation aims to assist young women globally via outreach programmes to have the right to an education and to maximise their full potential – www.koda.org.uk.
Yvonne, the brainchild behind KODA and the initiative for the forthcoming single explained, ‘It is important that the plight of these young women is not forgotten. Each one of us has a responsibility to do what we can to make a difference’. Catherine, who has been working in partnership with Young and Active Nigeria has brought a wealth of expertise to this global initiative. She relayed, ‘We have a number of projects in the pipeline to bring about positive changes through the work of KODA’.
The ‘Women of Hope’ single will be officially released on October 25th 2014 and will be available on iTunes and all major digital music retailers. Proceeds from the single will primarily go towards rehabilitation projects for the young girls and families in Nigeria who have been affected by the kidnappings in Nigeria earlier this year.
