Former governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola has vowed to prospose serious taxation for wealthy people in Nigeria when he becomes a Minister of the Federal Republic.
He the wealthy Nigerians are not doing enough to help poor people in the country.
To this end he is advocating for a just taxing system that will have wealthy Nigerians to pay more taxes.
The ministerial nominee from Osun State made this call while fielding questions from lawmakers on his view on multiple taxation and how it affects businesses during the screening exercise in the Senate.
Aregbesola also used the the opportunity to address the issue of unpaid salaries during his administration as governor.
Explained that at the time he hand over the reign of leadership in Osun state he had cleared all the outstanding salaries.
