Zoom stage is now the global centre piece for performance, artistic innovation, creative and iconic people. Nigeria’s top singers are not left behind as many are exploring ways to continue performing shows.
Among the leading packs is Aduke. Ayobamidele Aladekomo popularly knows as Aduke is a Nigerian-British performing artiste, a singer, songwriter, guitarist, dancer and actress.
Some of her songs include the popular Made in Lagos. The covid-19 pandemic has made possible many cancellations of events. In a bid to find alternative ways and to entertain people locked down at homes, Aduke came and rescued the scene.
Giving a 45mins solo, vibrant, and colorful performance, she went live on Zoom, taking advantage of the technological solution which is mostly known for corporate and educational than for a star singing songs to entertain people around the world.
Dr Kareem, speaking on the performance said, “I have been a director in creative industries, and this is a new way to direct and perform. This is most likely the first performance by a Nigerian lady on zoom.
Last weekend, from her simple London apartment, the rising star, Aduke performed various songs to the delight and excitement of guests. Tuned in for the experience were audience from Nigeria, United states of America, Qatar, Germany, France and United Kingdom, also in attendance were music leaders, icons and directors amongst them Kennis Music Chairman, Kenny Ogungbe, a digital video and audio audience listened in and watched.
The show was a success taking this lady to a higher global stage entertaining a live audience remotely and secure various commendations from those in attendance leaving them yearning for more. This e-concert was produced by 9302 Productions.
The singer-songwriter and multi-disciplinary performing artiste ADUKE was named 2019 shining star in Lang Fang, China where she performed at the Shenmo Educational Centre and was also made a honorary member and international consultant of the Shenmo women’s league.
Speaking about her artistic journey so far and music industry experience, ADUKE said; “ I am grateful for everyone I have met on this journey. Every sinle person. Thank you, for the love, the sacrifice, the patience, and every single thing that has pushed me forward to this very moment”
A singer and leader of the Soundwagon, a Lagos-based band, Aduke has performed on stage with Fatai rolling dollar, Orlando Julius, Ade Bantu, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, Nneka, Siji Awoyinka, Ghana’s Ebo Taylor and Ekow Alabi.
She is influenced by Bob Marley, Lauryn Hill, India Arie, Ebenezer Obey, Fela and the likes. Aduke’s music is essentially message driven and backed by social concern.
Aduke’s debut album “Peace and Light” was released in February 2020
