FCT minister Bala Mohammed has urged all corporate organisations, Business Men and individuals who live and do Business in the FCT to pay their environmental service charges in order to make the city conducive enough for Living.
The minister said this during the commissioning of some waste management equipment to help the Abuja Environmental Protection Board AEPB do their work effectively.
The minister said these equipment which were purchased at the cost of 477 million Naira will be deployed to Markets, Bus stops and event centres emphasising that this will in no doubt help to improve waste management culture in high density areas within the FCT.
He therefore used the medium to admonished the management of the AEPB to make sure that these equipment are maintained and effectively utilised for durability.
Speaking Earlier, the Director Abuja Environmental Protection Board Mrs Aishat Adebayo said that provision of infrastructure and equipment is very important to sustainable city sanitation, adding that the FCTA administration is also building 3 waste transfer stations to improve waste collection services. she appeal to Residents of the FCT to take responsibilities of their immediate environment and ensure no indiscriminate disposal of waste around them.
The equipment includes 8 street sweepers and 4 litter Pickers.
