One of the newest and fast growing political parties in Nigeria, YES party has disassociated itself from an online publication which states that, the YES party along with other parties have endorsed the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State for the 2019 election.
The Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Larry Ijaola, in a statement denied being a member of the coalition backing any candidate in the state.
There has been a publication and press circulation of 45 political parties under the aegis of Coalition of Progressives Political Parties in Lagos State that entered a coalition to endorse the APC gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, for the 2019 election on November 1st.
Mr Ijaola said YES party had never been invited to any meeting with the group or coalition to discuss endorsing any candidate or party.
The Party observed that it has the ability and capacity to form an alliance or coalition with any party working for the betterment of the state and by extension making Nigeria greater with its millions youthful and enlighten supporters across the country.
It wonders why any group can add parties not officially engaged into their plans and interior motives.
“We want to use this medium to inform all that YES Party has the brand, name, capacity and what it takes to make their own choice or support anyone, party and candidate in an election and on this never had any discussion with the coalition as mentioned in their publication and presentation.
There is a difference in partaking an event, alliance and presenting one where they did not actually participated. Lagos state is a major state in Nigeria and Africa. We look forward to participating with other parties to make the state deliver its potential to all her citizens in collaboration with others officially.
“We are say yes to better and greater Lagos and are working first and foremost with YES candidates for elective posts at the state and Federal levels.
“We call on all electorates in the state and beyond especially millions of our supporters to always seek for YES Party ideology which is for good governance and leadership, providing access to Equity, Peace and Justice as we approach the 2019 elections.
“YES party says YES, to a better and greater state and nation. Yes, we should. YES, We Can”
