The former Commissioner in Ogun State, Hon. Barr. Adeleke Adewolu has finally been confirmed by The Nigerian Senate on his nomination by President Buhari as Executive Commissioner on the Governing Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu representing Lagos State made the presentation and consideration of a report clearing him. She is the Chairman of the Senate committee on Communications.
Adeleke Adewolu, was born to Chief Doja Adewolu MFR & Hon. Justice Yetunde Abiodun Adewolu. He hails from Adewolu village, IFO. Ogun State.
Adeleke attended Igbobi College (Sept 1975- June 1978) and Abeokuta Grammar school (Sept 1978-June 1981) for his secondary education. He studied Law at University of Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University) Ile-Ife between December 1981- July 1985. He proceeded to the Nigerian Law School in 1985 and was called to the Bar in October,1986.
He started his legal practice with Bola Ajibola & Co. Legal Practitioners, Igbosere Road, Lagos. He later proceeded to the UK, where he re-qualified as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales. He worked for the Legal Aid Board & Legal Services Commission in the UK. He relocated to Nigeria and has previously held the following political appointments:
- Special Assistant to Senate President; Senator Ken Nnamani, on Legal & Legislative Matters 2005-2007
- Special Adviser, Research & Documentation to Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun CON, FCA. 2011-2015
- Ogun State Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter Governmental Affairs. 2015-2017
