The Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan may appoint as his new Chief of Staff, Dr. Raymond Dopkesi. According to our source, Dr. Raymond could have been appointed since as he understood more of the party’s need and the president’s desire to provide good governance in Nigeria.
High Chief. Dr. Raymond Anthony Aleogho Dokpesi, PhD, FCIT, OFR, serves as the Chairman and Director of Daar Communications Plc. Dr. Dokpesi worked briefly with the Nigerian Ports Authority as a Marine Officer Cadet in 1969 before proceeding to Poland for further studies. He lectured in the University of Gdnask, Poland as Assistant Lecturer in Marine Transport Economics before returning to Nigeria.
While in Poland as a student, he held the following positions: President of Nigeria Students Union Gdnask Poland from 1972 to 1974, President of African Students Union, Poland since 1973, President of Nigeria Students, Eastern Europe since 1974.
Before venturing into private business, he worked with both the Nigerian Ports Authority and the Federal Ministry of Transport in different capacities. Dr. Dokpesi is a seasoned and an accomplished entrepreneur and investor who understands the dynamics of private broadcasting business management.
He is a fellow member of many professional organizations, and a recipient of many prestigious awards including Dr. Kwame Nkurumah Africa Leadership Award and a Gold Medal for Excellence in Business Practice awarded by the Foundation for Excellence in Business Practice, an organ of the United Nations based in Geneva, Switzerland. He has won the Nigeria Arise (www.nigeriaarise.com) award too.
Dr. Dokpesi is a Marine Transport Engineer and attended Ebenezer African Church School, Ibadan, Loyola College, Ibadan and Immaculate Conception College, Benin city. From 1969 to 1973, he attended Wyzsza Szkota Morska Gdynia where, he obtained a B.sc in Marine Engineering. He also obtained a Post Graduate Masters in Marine Transport Engineering from the same university in 1975. In 1977, Dr. Dokpesi obtained Doctorate Degree from the University of Gdnask Sopot. He received a first class in first degree (the best in 50 years in Poland) and a distinction in Masters.
If confirmed as the New CoS, will have shown the President bringing in a bridge builder. Dr. Dokpesi is seen by many as a man of the IBB era, Obasanjo time’ learner and Tukur’s man.
