I want to admit the fact that there are saboteurs and it is not impossible that they could be plotting the fall of a government for their selfish gains but the the antecedents and body languages of The Chief Herdsman President Muhammadu Buhari is making it evident that he is not doing anything close to sufficiency in order to address the myriads of problems facing the country under his watch… his prolonged silence over the Fulani killer herdsmen over the years is Nothing but a sellout of a president who kept reminding the whole world at every opportunity that a particular section of the Country has the highest number of votes that brought him to power in 2015, it makes me wonder why the votes of that region had not been sufficient to make him victorious in his previous attempts before 2015 to the extent that he was crying openly in public after his loss in 2011, it is the peak of ungratefulness for Buhari to had kept repeating those tunes after all sections of the country shunned religious and ethnic sentiments to give him their votes, only for Buhari to get to power and be making such ungrateful statements which are reflecting in his mode of governance.
Buhari is dividing the country he ought to be binding through every reasonable means along ethnic and sentimental provocative utterances.
During his last visit to the East in 2017, Buhari never deemed it fit to visit any paramount traditional ruler in order to show at least a sign of respect to the traditional institution in the region and also to convince us that he is truly the president of the Country both the South and the North, he even had to lash out at the elders in the East by accusing them of not calling their youths to order during the Nnamdi Kanu’s led IPOB’s agitation, but as a Herdsman, he never considered his prolonged silence on the menace of the Fulani killer Herdsmen as criminal of a National Leader of a trade group which has been unleashing terror on innocent citizens of the Country for preventing them and their cows from destroying other people’s sources of livelihood.
Few months after his visit to the East, he visited a Northern state and his visit took him to the palace of the traditional ruler of the Northern state he visited, the visit included pumps and pageantry in Durbar-like style. Buhari is obviously very sectional and biased in his approach and utterances on national issues and he seems to be enjoying the support of mini, semi and super sycophants who continue to sing his praise despite his brawling flaws.
Most of these sybarites and sycophants are people who are earning their living as political appointees and the ordinary hungry and abused Nigerians who are in the league of these sycophants can not be blamed simply because most of them never experienced anything close to responsive and responsible governance before, so they can freely and easily believe that governance is all about cheap and unsubstantiated propaganda and the onus will continue to lie with the few of us who has the courage and the zeal to prick the consciousness of every Nigerians to look out through the window in order to be fired and act more decisively to marshal a new course for Nigeria by speaking against all forms of political shenanigans.
The problems with Nigeria can never be addressed by an individual because the deliberate alteration of the presidential system of government we are operating can never move the Country forward, in other words, no individual as a president can fix Nigeria. How can we move forward when the power supply of 36 states is expected to be made available by a federal government headed by a president sitting in Aso Rock when every state’s of the federation can be made made independent and source for their needs, all these nonsensical modifications of the Presidential system of government we claim to be practicing are the conspiracy of the backward, selfish and myopic power brokers who are hellbent on tying every states and other federating units to the apron strings of any opportunist individual who happens to be at the helms of affairs of the country as a president.
As it is often becoming very evident that the country needs a reset, the power brokers are not ready to let go of their captives who are the people of Nigeria. All the information are available on the huge amounts of resources which had been expended on electricity in Nigeria by successive administrations, with the largest chunks of such funds ending up in the private purses of politicians without meaningful and sustainable achievement and we kept hoping that one day someone will bring a solution.
It is Buhari’s turn today to rape and plunder the country as planned by the military fraternity since 1966 so he must fulfill that destiny.
I’m a very strong advocate of True Federalism and that informed my decision to support Buhari’s presidential ambition because I believe that’s the only veritable way we can reset the Country and restructuring was part of his major campaign promises but Buhari’s body language before this time and his declared opposition to the progressive cause, which many of us believed he will achieve as he promised during his electioneering campaign does not make him look like someone with integrity to some of us anymore as he was packaged and sold to us during 2015 elections.
This and other issues does not portray Muhammadu Buhari as someone who truly has any iota of integrity, whatever it is that eroded Buhari’s presumed integrity is his greatest anomally as a president.
Whether Buhari or any other presumed Angel will be running for the office of the president of Nigeria in 2019 is immaterial the most sacrosanct step to fix Nigeria is to entrench true federalism before the next elections if not, however, with our flawed system aided by the faulty constitution, whoever emerges as the next president will continue to rule the Country by discretion rather than through an institutionalized system.
