In a move to find a lasting solution to the lingering chieftaincy crisis among the people of Kwali, An ad hoc committee setup by The Federal Capital Territory Administration to look into the issues and find a lasting solution to it, has submitted its report to the FCT minister of State Olajumoke Akinjide.
Speaking during the presentation of the report, The chairman of the 12 man member committee, Senator Philip Aduda said though five similar committee have been previously setup to look into these issues, this committee’s report is very unique as the committee consulted all the stakeholders involved in the quick resolution of the outstanding issues.
Senator Aduda emphasised that with the level of work and commitment of the committee members if the recommendations in the report are implemented, the chieftancy tussle in kwali will be a thing of the past. Noting that the committee also. Examined the reports of previous committees in the cause of doing a thorough job.
Responding the FCT minister of State, Olajumoke Akinjide said with the submission of the report by the committee was a fulfilment of some of the campaign promises made to the people of Kwali during the last Local government elections in the FCT by the people’s democratic Party PDP.
” I am happy to say that this report will definitely bring about a lasting peace in kwali, I am even happier because it happened under our administration as ministers of the FCT it shows this administration is committed to making the life of its citizens better” she noted.
She said that the findings and recommendations of the committee will be fully implemented after careful study.
She therefore used the medium to appeal to the committee to also help in the implementation of the findings and recommendations of the report.
