Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun has tasked religious leaders on the need to develop the capacity of the people in order to maximise their inherent potentials.
Governor Abiodun stated this at the 50th dedication anniversary and launching of N100m endowment fund of the Cathedral Church of St. Matthew, Ojowo in Ijebu-Igbo area of the State.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Olatokunbo Talabi, Prince Abiodun noted that the present administration had strategically put in place life transforming initiatives, targeted at improving the living standard of the citizenry, calling on both the religious bodies and well to do individuals in the society to explore the benefits of human capital development for the people.

“In line with all these efforts, I urge the leadership of the church to key into these initiatives by organising and engaging the congregants on human capital development to be self-reliant”, he stated.
He underscored the need to engage the present administration on possible areas of collaboration to achieve the desired socio-economic development, resulting in wealth creation and ensuring self reliance among the citizenry, particularly, the youths.
In his goodwill message, Chairman of the Church Steering Committee and Chairman, Nigeria Communication Commission, Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, advised the congregation and the people of Ijebu-Igbo to support government with clear conscience.
Also speaking, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, represented by the Limeri of Awa-Ijebu, Oba Abeeb Awobajo encouraged the people to always show reverence and love to God by donating voluntarily to the work of God, praying that the church would continue to witness landmark transformation.
