South West Nigeria – The Gateway State, Ogun State saw the conclusion of a peaceful congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in all local governments.
It will be recalled that before the congress, tensions has been very high between two groups of the party in the State. The Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun group and of a former governor of the State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba.
The Friday’s event was described by the Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, as peaceful and hitch free and congratulating the Executive Committee members who conducted the exercises.
As a man of peace himself, the Governor was seen at his Agura ward in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state and at Igbore ward of a former Governor of the state, Chief Olusegun Osoba in Abeokuta rejoicing with all and appreciating the standards always shown by Ogun State in executing programmes that affects the masses and benefits it.
“I’m very delighted about reports we are getting from across the state, even at the national level, on the conduct of the Ward Congress and I feel we must appreciate executives who have organised it, though I am not surprised because we have always set the standard for others to follow.
“It is not easy to organise and conduct this kind of thing. With this success, I think we should commend the organisers and the party at large,” Governor Ibikunle said.
