Senator Rose Okoji Oko a Nigerian politician and senator from Cross River is dead. She was a Member of the Federal House of Representatives from the ruling People’s Democratic Party, representing Yala/Ogoja Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s 7th class of the National Assembly.

Senator Oko, died last night at a UK medical facility, after a brief illness and was aged 63 years.
She was elected into office as the first female Senator in Cross Rivers Senatorial District in June 2015 in the 8th Senate and was re-elected in the 2019 elections.
This makes two that died within weeks with the Vice-Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Ignatius Longjan of All Progressives Congress, APC
Mr. Alistair Soyode, a former Diaspora Leader, who has worked with her on Diaspora issues expressed shock and surprised.
Of her demise he said: “We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of Senator Rose.
“She will be remembered as a supporter of Diaspora issues and a wonderful person who gave her best to her people and now that it has pleased her maker to her home, pray the Almighty God grant her eternal rest and to her family strength to bear it. “
