According to a our reliably source, Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has asked his Chief of Staff, Mike Oghiadome to resign. Chief Oghiadohme, 55, has been in many controversial engagements since his appoitnments and with an election coming soon in 2015, has been forced out.
Chief Michael Ayegbeni Oghiadomhe, was born 55 years ago in Fugar, in Etsako Central Local Government Area of present-day Edo State. A well-educated gentleman, Chief Oghiadomhe is a 1978 graduate of soil science from Nigeria’s premier university, University of Ibadan.
He also obtained an MBA degree from University of Benin in 1982. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management (FNIM). He was elected Member of Council of NIM in 2006; where he served two terms. He is currently a member of Board of Fellows of the Institute.
Between 1979 and 1982, Chief Oghiadomhe had a brief stint with the Bendel Ministry of Agric as a Research Officer. He joined the private sector in 1982 and has become a major player in the solid mineral industry. In recognition of his role in the industry, he was granted the corporate membership of the Nigeria Mining and Geosciences Society of Nigeria.
In 1998, he went into politics and was elected unopposed into the House of Representatives under the platform of the United Nigeria Congress Party. However, following the truncation of that transition programme, he was nominated as gubernatorial running mate and he ran successfully with the Edo State Governor under the People’s Democratic Party and served two terms meritoriously as Deputy Governor of Edo State. In the course of service, he received several awards for his unalloyed loyalty and meritorious performance.
In appreciation of his immense contributions to Edo State, the entire traditional rulers of the State unanimously granted him a civic reception and conferred upon him the title of OLUETSENIGIE of Edoland thus becoming the first and only Edo man to hold a collective title of the entire traditional institutions in the State
