The Methodist Archbishop of Abuja Diocese Most Reverend Oche Job has Urged Nigerians to Shun every spirit of selfishness and Negative Political Ambition in order not to truncate the country democracy.
Most Reverend Oche Job stated this in Abuja during a chat with news men on the ways to move the Nation forward especially in the areas of co existence among different ethnic and religious group in Nigeria.
The Archbishop said one of the reasons why politicians move from one party to another is because of selfishness and the desire to stay in political offices for ever.
On the Issues of same sex marriage, Child Molestation and Rape cases in Nigerian the Methodist Archbishop said as a man of God and an Africa, such practice is alien to our Culture and a sin against God Almighty
In his words “I see no reason why we should even discuss it in Nigeria in the first place, some of these problems we are having is as a result of sending our children abroad either to school or to do business without proper monitoring, some of them end up emulating learning and practising strange cultures that are alien to Africa and the Church.” He there used the medium to commend President Goodluck Jonathan and members of the National Assembly for the speedy passage of the Anty Same Sex Marriage Bill into law.
In the area of Education for the Masses which is one of the Cardinal points of the Methodist Church in Nigeria, The Archbishop said plans are on to build secondary schools and Health institutions in Abuja and other cities round the country.
He therefore urge politicians to do away with tribalism, religious fanatism and ethnicity, emphasising that our hopes and plans as a nation can only succeed if we avoid these societal ills and evils.
