The conspiracy theorists are not going to leave our President alone; they are now claiming that Nigeria’s President is not actually Muhammadu Buhari but his look-alike called Jubril imported from Sudan.
This is high-tech conspiracy akin to the pretence by Germany for invading Poland in 1939 during world war 2.
Indeed the conspiracy theorists want to snatch power from President Buhari at any cost including describing him as a cloned person. The cloning theory is now effectively a weapon for power-grab.
The conspiracy theorists are disappointed that Buhari is still alive. When the President was in London to seek medical attention, they claimed he was dead. When he came back to Nigeria alive after a successful medical trip, they said it was Jubril, NOT Buhari
Again, the theorists recently changed from describing the President as ‘lifeless’ to ‘certificateless’ when they claimed that he has no WAEC certificate. A claim refuted by WAEC.
The ultimate aim of any conspiracy is to create a make-believe scenario. Conspiracy knows no borders. It is a blatant and ruthless approach to creating confusion.
Conspiracy theories cannot be verified by tradition, history, science or technology.
The incomprehensible story of the theorists is that Buhari passed away in Morocco on his way to London and has since been buried in Saudi Arabia. After this incident, the theorists averred that the Northern oligarchy in it’s desperate attempt to hold on to power rushed to Sudan and hired a man called Jubril who looked so much like the real Muhammadu Buhari that even the first lady her excellency Hajiya Aisha Buhari could not figure out.
The claim is that the Northern oligarchy smuggled Jubril into Nigeria from Sudan to serve as the cloned shadowy President-figure in place of Buhari .
In essence, what the conspiracy theorists are saying is that the hypothetical Jubril is now the inheritor and proud owner of everything that Muhammadu Buhari worked for during his lifetime including his family, his military career and of course his Presidency.
If we are to believe the conspiracy theorists, it means that when Zahra Buhari comes to greet her dad, she is actually not speaking to President Buhari but to someone else from Sudan. It means VP Osinbajo is briefing someone from Sudan not President Buhari. It means when our ministers come to brief the President on state matters, they are not briefing President Buhari but a cloned President from Sudan. When we watch the President on television, we are watching someone from Sudan NOT President Buhari. The most appropriate response to all these incomprehensible conjectures is a prolonged laughter. What else?
This same incomprehensible scenario was sold to Nigerians albeit unsuccessfully during late YarAdua’s Presidency. The same conspiracy theorists cooked up the story that Presidency YarAdua’s look alike was imported by the Northern Oligarchy into Nigeria to serve as President while the late President was on his sick bed in Saudi Arabia.
As the 2019 elections approach, one could expect anything from the opposition. The ‘Jubril’ conspiracy is part of the plot by the opposition to discredit the current government and possibly sway the votes to its side. It is a power-grab approach.
If we are to believe the indecipherable story of the hypothetical Jubril, then Nigeria is now effectively a colony of Sudan.
But why should we believe the Jubril theory?
Commonsense and logic dictate that there CANNOT be a Jubril in the Presidential villa. What we have in Aso rock is President Muhammadu Buhari, a full- blooded Nigerian from Daura Katsina state.
in their dreams, the opposition are upbeat that they have won the 2019 Presidential elections even before the first ballot is cast. Time shall tell.
The Jubril conspiracy is not the first one against President Buhari. As a matter of fact, conspiracies on President Buhari started more than 40 years ago in 1976 when President Buhari was the minister of Petroleum under President Obasanjo. The allegation against the then-General Buhari was that N2.8 billion was missing from the NNPC. A Judicial Commission of Inquiry was set up. They investigated and the allegation was found to be false and unfounded.
Again in 1984 when General Buhari was the head of state, there was a fresh allegation that Gen Buhari through his ADC Major Mustapha Jokolo ordered the smuggling of 53 suitcases filled with cash into Nigeria through Murtala Mohammed Airport. Strikingly, Atiku Abubakar, the PDP Presidential candidate in the 2019 general election was the comptroller of customs at Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos. These allegations couldn’t stand either.
All these conspiracies didn’t achieve their aim of discrediting Muhammadu Buhari. To the contrary, they made him stronger and more acceptable to the people.
Many believe that it is the aggregate of these conspiracies that made President Buhari what he is today: a strong leader with almost a cult followership across Nigeria. The masses know that these conspiracies are not true so they end up liking the man the more.
At the height of their conspiracy, the theorists have even attempted to link President Buhari to terrorism by claiming that he is the patron and sponsor of Boko haram. That didn’t work as President Buhari has today proving to be the nemesis of terror rather than its sponsor.
Once you are doing the right thing, never be afraid of conspiracies, they will only make you stronger.
Other failed conspiracy theories against President Buhari are as follows:
– Buhari will islamise Nigeria
– Buhari will impose sharia in Nigeria if he is elected President
– Buhari has plans to divide Nigeria
– Buhari said Muslims should vote for only Muslim candidates
– Buhari’s brain is not working, he is brain dead (by Patience Jonathan)
The 2019 elections are few months away. Nigerians should remain alert and vigilant about conspiracies targeted not only at President Buhari but our dear country.
We must stand up to the weird imagination of the theorists who seek to question our existence as a nation. They will go to any length in their quest to grab power and spread corruption in Nigeria. Going forward, they will claim that President Buhari is remote-controlling INEC to do his bidding. They will make up stories on corruption against President Buhari’s close aides.
They will target those close to Mr President on corruption since nobody will listen to them if they directly accuse President Buhari of corruption.
Eventually, conspiracy theories will continue to hit the rocks while our dear country and our President continue to grow stronger.
