Joan Ryan MP donned her hard hat and fluorescent jacket and visited the Uniper Power Station in Enfield North, yesterday.
Meeting with senior management and staff at the gas fired power plant on Brancroft Way, Joan had the opportunity to discuss how Uniper, with the latest technology, was helping to tackle air pollution and support the transition to a low carbon society.
Ms Ryan was, also, given a full tour of the site, including the control room.
Joan Ryan MP, Labour Member of Parliament for Enfield North, said:
“It was very interesting to visit Uniper’s facility in Enfield and to meet so many of the 35 people the company employs in the constituency.
Air pollution is one of our borough’s and London’s biggest problems, so it is important to meet and work with energy providers who are reducing pollutants and emissions into the atmosphere.
It is vital for our community and the local and national economy that our energy infrastructure is able to provide cleaner, affordable and secure energy and companies like Uniper will have an important role to play in helping to make this happen.”
