INEC plans disfranchises our members- APC
The main opposition political party in Nigeria , All Progressives Congress has alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission is planning to disfranchise its members in North-Eastern parts of the country.
According to the Party statement credited to the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, that elections might not hold in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states where the Federal Government declared emergency, was another plot aimed at reducing the electoral fortunes of the APC.
The Interim National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, who read the communique of the party after its National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja, said the party would resist this attempt.
The APC National Chairman condemned the attack on the office of Rivers State in a strong term.
“Sadly, in the course of the meeting, the APC learnt that another deadly attack was perpetrated against the Rivers Government House where the office of the Deputy Governor was partly destroyed. This and other acts of impunity clearly show the PDP, its agents and governments to be lawless. The APC warns that these acts demonstrate clearly that this government is anti-people, dictatorial and would go to any length to plunge the country into chaos”.
