Hannah is a melting pot of diverse cultural influences but stays true to her African descent and titles the single BABA DEY, a popular broken/pigeon English term which translates as ‘God Lives’ in English. Hannah says “I wrote Baba Dey during a period when I wondered whether God could see the injustice happening around me, and why He would allow it to persist. The song was a personal encouragement to me not to give up in dark situations because indeed, “Baba Dey”! God is real, and continues to confirm His sovereignty in my life, even when it is difficult to accept or understand, He is always in control, and the results always prove it!”
With it’s catchy, upbeat, dance melody Baba Dey is a reminder to everyone that God is bigger than all our problems, His Son is proof of our victory and a salute to all who are facing trials to hold on in there because joy comes in morning.
Hannah made an unforgettable entrance into the gospel music scene in mid- 2014 with her groundbreaking and critically acclaimed multi-genre 16 track debut album, “Expectation”. She was a featured soloist at the Mission to London and Premier Gospel Week. Later that year Hannah launched her music event “Expectation” Night and released a UK chart topping single, “Overwhelming Praise” in the same year with the JUMP award nominated video quickly following.Despite a brief hiatus Hannah Ola’s name remains hot on the lips of fans, critics and Gospel Music industry experts.
In 2016 and beyond, the demand for Hannah’s music and live performances resulted in a very welcome return to the gospel music scene with conference appearances and live performances throughout the UK.
