The Federal Government has implore the highest policy advisory body and all stakeholders in the Industry Trade and Investment sector to proffer policies that can transform the nation’s economy.
The Permanent Secretary, Industry, Trade and Investment Mr. Edet Sunday Akpan has called on the highest policy advisory body and all stakeholders in the Industry Trade and Investment sector to proffer policies that can transform the nation’s economy.
Mr Edet Sunday Akpan, Permanent Secretary, Industry Trade and Investment made the call while declaring open the Meeting of Officials of the National Council on Industry, Trade and Investment in Sokoto State with the theme: “Implementing the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan through the Industry, Trade and Investment Sector.”
Mr Akpan noted that Nigeria exited recession as a result of sustainable reforms embarked upon by the current administration, saying in order to sustain this growth rate, there is absolute need for all hands to be on deck to see to the diversification of the economy away from crude oil.
He explained further, that the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment is determined and committed to synergies with all stakeholders to put in place measures to actualize this year’s theme.
“It is therefore, pertinent to note that this technical session is critical to the actualization of this theme and so it should be taken seriously.” Mr Akpan, said.
Sokoto Sate Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Mallam Aminu Bello, earlier expressed appreciation to Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah for hosting the event in the State and commended the patience and cooperation of Council members and urged the delegates to take advantage of the warm and hospitable nature of Sokoto State to relax and enjoy their stay “in the seat of caliphate.”
