As the Concern for the deadly Coronavirus begins to increase all over the world, The Federal Government of Nigeria has issued Travel Advisory to all Nigerians and foreigners currently living in Nigeria to put on hold all plans to travel to China and other countries with concerned health challenges.
Briefing StateHouse correspondents after the Federal Executive Council Meeting in Abuja which is the first for the year 2020, Health Minister Osagie Ehanire said this is to make sure that all loopholes are well taken care of.
in his words, “All Nigerians and all persons intending to travel to China should delay their travel plans until further notice except it is extremely essential for them to do that trip. All persons arriving from China or any country that has a major outbreak is advised if they have no symptoms at all to self isolate meaning that they should stay indoors in their homes for at least two weeks and if they develop any symptoms like cough, catarrh , sneezing and finding it difficult to breath should report to the nearest health facility. we are also advising all airlines to report any case of a passenger falling sick onboard before the plan lands which is a requirement in the agreement”
speaking on the rumour of Chinese nationals returning from their Lunar year celebration the minister said ” the Travel Advisory is across board as the Nigeria Port Health Services is placed on red alert for such situation.
