He noted that the forum under the leadership of the duo was so far very successfull in working with the federal government at ensuring that the citizens of Nigeria benefit from government policies at all levels.
Earl Osaro Onaiwu encouraged all the governors to continue to maintain the peaceful coexistence and mutual respect they have achieved in the last one year, which can stand as a model for other groups working for a better and peaceful Nigeria.
Former CBN governor , Malam Lamido Sanusi Lamido has been announced as the new Emir of Kano.
The announcement was made by the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Rabiu Sulaiman. Before becoming the new Emir, Malam Sanusi was under suspension as the Governor for whistle blowing on missing fund of about $20 billion.
His grand father was a former Emir in the emirates.
Long live Nigeria and long live new emir of kano.
Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has congratulated the new Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
Amosun, hailed the choice of the foremost banker and erstwhile governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), who he said would bring his wealth of experience to bear in the appointment.
In a press release signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mrs Olufunmilayo Wakama, Amosun urged the Emir Elect to follow in the footsteps of the predecessor by bringing further development to the Emirate and the State as a whole.
“As an accomplished technocrat, I believe the new Emir will use his influence to foster peace and attract more development to the emirate and indeed the State,” the governor said.
He expressed happiness at the choice of the new Emir and prayed Almighty Allah to grant him the wisdom and understanding to discharge the functions of the exalted office.
The Nigeria Governors Forum under the leadership of Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau state has told Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State
that the reconciliation of the governors under one umbrella can only start with the recognition of Gov. Jang as Chairman of the Nigeria
In a statement released in Abuja and signed by the Sole Administrator of the Forum, Earl Osaro Onaiwu, the governors stated that while they
understand the lamentation of Governor Amaechi on the crack amongst the governors, they however reminded him that there would be no such
fracture if Amaechi and his factional colleagues had adhered to the nomination of Governor Jang at the Northern Governors Forum which was
duly accepted by the PDP Governors Forum before the ill fated election.
The statement further advised Governor Amaechi to seek the truth of how Governor Jang emerged as the consensus choice of the Northern
governors and he will find out that the deceit and the betrayal of trust amongst the governors was at the bottom of the fracture and that
only a return to the original agreement can heal the fracture.
The governors under the leadership of Governor Jang added they were not surprised at Amaechi’s disappointment as he presently presides
over an opposition Governors Forum, a leadership they said he inadvertently shares with Owelle Rochas Okorocha of Imo state who is
the Chairman of the All Progressives Governors Forum by virtue of the fact that all the governors under Amaechi’s leadership all belong to
the All Progressives Congres
