ANTI-TERRORISM: United States Government Donates High Tech Bomb Disposal Robots and Equipments to the Nigeria Police Force

As part of the efforts by the United States to assist Nigeria Security Forces in the fight against terrorism and other violent crime, the United States Government has donated High-Tech Bomb disposal Robots and other security equipments to the Nigeria Police Force.
Presenting the equipments to The Inspector General of Police Suleiman Abba in Abuja, the US Ambassador to Nigeria James F. Entwistle who also came to pay the IGP a courtesy call after his elevation to His New Office as the IGP congratulated the Ag. IGP on his new appointment as the Police Boss and thanked the Nigeria Police Force for its high level of co-operation and huge partnership with the US Embassy in Nigeria.
The Ambassador thereafter presented the High tech Bomb disposal robots/equipment to the Nigeria Police Force. Assuring the Ag. IGP that his country will continue to render relevant supports to the Force in the areas of training and security cooperation.
The US Envoy said the donation was necessitated by the terrorism situation in the country and the need to safeguard live and properties during the forth Coming General Elections in Nigeria.
While responding, the Ag. IGP Suleiman Abba appreciated the Ambassador’s courtesy visit and thanked the US government for assisting the Nigeria Police Force in areas of investigation, management of scene of crime as well as the presentation of the Equipments.
In his words, ” I am happy that the Nigeria Police has improved tremendously in the areas of equipments which can be attributed to The federal Government of Nigeria and our development Partners like the US government which we are witnessing here today”
He therefore use the medium to call on Nigerians to report any suspicious movement of individuals and vehicles to the police as soon as possible as delayed information may not yield the desired results. pointing out that timely report of incidence to the Police reduces response time.
