The Nigerian Senate has directed its committee on constitution amendment to resubmit the bill on state and community police within the next two weeks.
The lawmakers who spoke during a debate on the killings in plateau and other parts of the country insist that the only solution to the heinous crimes in the country to establish state and community policing.
Coming through a matter of urgent importance, Former governor of Plateau state, Senator Jonah Jang lamented the situation and how the people of the state are living in feat.
The lawmakers also want a fast track of the police reform bill and the peace and reconciliation commission bills presently before its committees.
It will be recalled that about 200 people were killed in a deadly attack in seven villages in plateau state last week.
