President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja, after attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in the United Kingdom.
The president who departed Nigeria for UK on the 9th of April, 2018 shortly after he made a formal declaration that he would contest next year’s Presidential election touched down at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at about 7:15 pm.
Prior to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting which held between 18th to 20th April, the President had a private meeting with the British Prime Minister, Theresa May.
While in the UK, several controversies also trailed his visit as Buhari had claimed he was not bothered about the forth coming general elections, rather he was more worried about the security situation in the country.
Buhari was received on arrival at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, Chairman,All Progressive Congress(APC) Governors Forum and Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, some of the service chiefs in the military, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris among others.
