Barrister Onyekachi Monday Ubani a legal practitioner, a social activist and vice president 11 of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in an interview with BEN Television in his Law Chambers in Lagos stated that the 8th senate have not in any way impressed Nigeria. He admitted that the situation in Nigeria is getting worse citing the case of the exchange rate of Dollar to Naira to how the high rate has affected the price of fuel thereby blaming the government of not being fair enough to the masses.
In his opinion about the issue of farmers and Fulani herdsmen, the human rights activist stated “I believe the laws of the land should be obeyed irrespective of the status, tribe or religion of the citizen, there should be fairness, equity and justice in the country.
Barrister Ubani described the downturn in our economy has impacted negatively on the masses because the government has failed.
Also speaking further on the role of the youth in Nigeria politics, he admitted that it is a god idea to have youth inclusiveness but we should thread with caution when agitating to elect youths in certain position because some of them have been tested before but they misused the opportunity.
He concluded that unless the country and the people do away with money politics, it will be a herculean task to move our country forward.
