Every hard work they say deserves a reward. This adage is indeed true as it describes better the activities that happened at the Nigerian Sport Awards as those who put their best in the 2017 was acknowledged and given a deserving award.
The event that took place at the Eko hotel and suites Lagos had in attendance various sports celebrities, enthusiast, administrators and stakeholders from Nigeria with awards given to Sports men and women in different categories like footballer of the year, Sports woman of the year, coach of the year, journalist of the year, ball sports person of the year, sports governor of the year (where both governors nominated emerged the winner) etc.
The event which kicked off at about 6pm with the cocktail/ red carpet session with presence of personalities like the NFF President Amaju Pinnick, Minister for youths and sports Salomon Dalung, Nigeria’s 1 st female footballer Asisat Oshola, Mitchel Obi and others.
Speaking to winner of the TV sport journalist of the year, Promise Efoghene, he expressed his gratitude and appreciation following the fact that he has always wished for the award as it truly explains that there is no gain without pain and consistency.
Also in an interview with the multiple award winner “ Odunayo Adegoroye ” who won in the category of female sport woman stated that it was only hard work that could have made her earn the award and also prayers thereby giving glory to God for the award.
Another guest in attendance also said during an interview that Awards like this is a good way of encouraging Nigerians who work hard to make the nation proud.
