A few hours after it was alleged the $43.4million, £27,800 and N23.2million found in in a home in Ikoyi belongs to the managing Director of NNPC Retail Limited Mrs. Esther Nnamdi Ogbue, an allegation she denied. The management of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation NNPC has retired her and other staff working with the NNPC retail Ltd.
In a statement by the Group General Manger Group Public Affairs Division of the NNPC Ndu Ughamadu other staff retired alongside Esther are Alpha P. Mamza, Executive Director, Operations, NNPC Retail Ltd; and Mr. Oluwa Kayode Erinoso, Manager, Distribution, NNPC Retail Ltd.
According to the statement some staff of the corporation were also immediately deployed to fill the vacant positions. Mr. Adeyemi Adetunji is now Managing Director of NNPC Retail Ltd; Engr. Lawal Bello takes the position of Executive Director, Operations, NNPC Retail Ltd; Mrs. Affiong Akpasubi, Executive Director, Services, NNPC Retail Ltd; and Mr. Agwandas A. Andrawus, Manager, Distribution, NNPC Retail Ltd.
According to the statement The appointments take effect, immediately.
Until his new assignment as the Managing Director of NNPC Retail Ltd, Mr. Adetunji was General Manager, Strategy & Planning, Gas & Power and also former General Manager, Transformation Office.
The Group Managing Director of NNPC, Dr Maikanti Baru, charged the deployed staff to remain committed to their duties in line with the transformation aspirations of the Management.
