We are Still Working with the U.S. in other Areas to End Terrorism in Nigeria – NIC Assures Nigerians
The National Information Centre (NIC) has said that Nigeria is still very much working with the United State of America in its fight against insurgents and terrorism in Nigeria.
The Coordinating spokesman of the Centre Mike Omeri stated this while answering questions from News men at the centre concerning the recent decision by the government of Nigeria to discontinue America’s Training of her Military Personnel.
According to Mike Omeri Nigeria and America are collaborating in other Areas to ensure that there is an end to the insurgency in the Country.
On the recent attacks in some parts of the country, the centre called on Nigerians to be extra vigilant and security conscious within their environment to enable them identify and thwart the activities of terrorist, especially suicide bombers and their accomplices who deceive unsuspecting Nigerians to perpetrate their evil deeds.
In the same vein the centre strongly commends the gallantry display by the Nigeria security agencies in effectively repelling the various attacks, especially during the invasion of Damaturu, Yobe State in the early Hours of Monday the 1st of December 2014. And also the courage shown by Nigerians in resisting terror Attacks as witnessed during the recent bombing of the Grand Mosque in Kano.
On the need for greater cooperation between all tiers of Government, the centre urges greater cooperation between local and state governments in the area of community policing and similar exercises that will effectively check terror activities in all part of the country.
