The FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed, has congratulated President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and all Nigerians on the 54th Independence anniversary of the country.
Bala Mohammed implored Nigerians to use the occasion to unite for the progress and prosperity of the country, adding that the unity of Nigeria should remain upper most.
In a statement signed by the chief Press secretary to the Minister Mohammad Sule, Senator Mohammed enjoined the residents to supplicate for the nation to overcome its current security challenges as the country approaches the general elections.
He urged the residents of the Federal Capital Territory to continue to support the Federal Government in its desire to make the general elections free and fair throughout the country.
The Minister called for prayers for the success of the country’s leadership under President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, for the Almighty to continue to guide, protect and give him the wisdom to steer the affairs of state.
He thanked God for sparing our lives to witness this year’s anniversary and enjoined all Nigerians irrespective of our religious belief and political inclinations to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another; advising that we should remain our brothers’ keeper.
The Minister reiterated that the current security challenges in some parts of the country would soon be a thing of the past and urged Nigerians to partner with the security agencies to win the current war against insurgency.
